Gary Mclean, Partner, Hong Kong, and Head of Asia Pacific Corporate Practice, Allen & Overy LLP
Gary has been a corporate partner at Allen & Overy since 1996 and is based in the Hong Kong office. He is head of the firm's Asia Pacific Corporate team. From 2000 to 2001 he was based in the Amsterdam office and otherwise has worked in the firm's London office. Gary advises on a wide range of domestic and international corporate and commercial matters including mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing transactions, joint ventures and corporate recovery work.
His experience includes advising Everbright Securities Financial Holdings Limited on its HKD891m purchase of a 51% interest in Everbright Securities (International) Limited from China Everbright Limited, Fortis on its proposed sale of 50% of Fortis Investment Management to Ping An for USD2.15bn, Huawei Technologies, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions, on a cooperation agreement with Option, the Euronext-listed wireless technology company, and on the acquisition of Option's subsidiary (M4S), a PRC bidder in an auction sale of a European portfolio of financial services assets and The Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi on the GBP3.9 billion acquisition of RBS' global project finance portfolio.
