Jean Lemierre, Special Representative of the Chairman, BNP Paribas


Jean Lemierre took office as Advisor to the Chairman of BNP Paribas on September 1, 2008.
He is Chairman of the Centre dEtudes Prospectives et dInformations Internationales-CEPII (the French center for research and studies on the world economy), since 2009. He is member of the International Advisory Council of the China Investment Corporation-CIC and of the International Advisory Council of the China Development Bank-CDB, since 2009. He is member of the International Advisory Board of France Telecom since 2010.

Mr Lemierre has had a long and distinguished career in international finance. He was President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development from 2000 to July 2008. Before, he was Head of the French Private Office of the Minister of Economy and Finance and Director of France's Treasury.

He served as a member of the European Monetary Committee and, prior to taking up his position at the EBRD, was Chairman of the European Economic and Financial Committee and Chairman of the Paris Club. Previously he had served as Head of France's Internal Revenue Service, and Head of the Tax Policy Administration.

Mr Lemierre is a graduate of Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris. He earned a degree in law, and graduated from the Ecole Nationale d'Administration. Born 6 June 1950 at Sainte Adresse (France).
