Vikas Seth, Managing Director Head of Middle East, Turkey and Africa Investment Banking Department Co-Head of Global Emerging Markets Mergers & Acquisitions , Credit Suisse
Vikas Seth is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the Investment Banking Division, based in London. Mr. Seth is Head of the Investment Banking Department for Middle East, Turkey and Africa. In addition, he is Co-Head of Global Emerging Markets M&A and has the lead M&A responsibility for several of the firm's key industrial clients. Previously he served as Head of the Sell Side M&A practice and as Head of Industrial M&A in EMEA.
Mr. Seth joined Credit Suisse in 1993 in the New York office from McKinsey & Co where he was an Engagement Manager in the Financial Institutions Group. He relocated to London in 2004. Mr. Seth is a member of the firm's Global Mergers & Acquisitions Operating Committee, the Emerging Markets Operating Committee, the European Investment Banking Committee and the Global Privatisation Committee.
Mr. Seth has played a leadership role in many of Credit Suisse's most prominent emerging markets, cross-border, industrial and financial sponsor-related transactions. Since moving to London, notable transactions include the acquisition of Cairn India by Vedanta, the sale of Synthes to Johnson & Johnson, the acquisition of Provimi by Cargill, the merger of Ispat with LNM and the simultaneous acquisition of ISG to create Mittal Steel, the acquisition by Rusal of 25% of Norilsk Nickel, the merger of Pyaterochka with Perekrestok, the acquisition of Vale's aluminium assets by Norsk Hydro (advising the Norwegian government), the acquisition by Schneider of Beijing Leader & Harvest, the sale of Hyva to Unitas/New World Holding, the sale of Novar to Honeywell, the sale of Enodis to Manitowoc, the sale of Foxtons to BC Partners among other transactions.
Mr. Seth graduated from Harvard Business School with an M.B.A. as a Baker Scholar (highest honors) and received a B.S. in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University.
