Wang Wei, Chairman of China Mergers & Acquisitions Association (CMAA) and Founder of China M&A Group. Before that, he was Executive Vice President of China Southern Securities Co. Ltd. (1992-96), one of the top State owned national investment banking institution.
Mr. Wang has rich experience in corporate financing, M&A, and IPO operations. He has led and supervised the IPO underwriting for over 40 Chinese companies in both domestic and overseas markets. He was also the financial consultant advising on the issues like restructuring, financing, M&A and IPO for many leading companies in China. Mr. Wang is chairing different committees as independent director on several listed companies and the economic advisor
for several ministerial and provincial governments in China. He has experience in working with quite a few foreign corporations as well, such as Nomura Security Co. Ltd. In Tokyo, the World Bank in Washington D.C. and the Chase Morgan Bank in New York.
Mr. Wang received his Bachelor degree in Accounting and Master degree in Finance in China. In 1992, he obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from Fordham University in the United States. Mr. Wang is an active player in the academic field as well. He has participated or presided scores of seminars and lectures on fund management, M&A, investment banking and corporate restructuring since 1985. And he has also given a series of lectures on corporate restructuring and M&A for the EMBA students at CEIBS, Peking University, Tsinghua University and Yale.
Mr. Wang has been named as Top Five Chinese investment banker by <Talent Magazine> in 2003, as the People for Public Interest by <South China > in 2005, as the Most Influential Independent Director by <the Board> in 2006 and the Most Influential Investment Banker by <China Finance Web> in 2006. as Member of Shanghai Stock Exchange Corporate Governance Advisory Committee in 2007.
